That depends. Is it an action of yours or "God related"? If you cause the loss, yes. Anything "God related" is not as impactful. However, every claim you file does show on your history and that history does follow carrier to carrier! 

YES! The deductible amount is your legal contract bound cost agreed to by the policy contract.

 A roofing contractor who travels from one storm-affected area to another seeking repair and replacement work generated by recent weather events, typically without an established long-term local presence. Oftentimes unlicensed and uninsured. Opens satellite offices then claim to be "local" when they truly aren't.

That depends on the letter wording. Sometimes it is a true cancellation, and other times it is a "do this or" letter. If it is a "do this or", have an inspection by a licensed entity and have them report their findings. 

Most importantly, do you truly have a need for a claim? In case of fire, 1st would be your agent then a contractor. For anything storm related, have a reputable roofer assess the damage. If the damage cost to repair is over your deductible, after hours call the claim center or your agent during business hours. 

The insured, a Public Adjuster, or an attorney. 

Most carriers have a 1 year time period. Past 1 year and they will not approve the claim. 

That can change from carrier to carrier. Most are 2 years but some are 1.5. However, if a carrier handles a claim unethically, extensions can be demanded.
